Huge value in cognitive diversity, which is often downstream of cultural diversity, but there's a fundamental tension I think between the two sides of DEI ideology - one of which presses the assertion that all behaviour/traits conform to a single standard across humankind, the other of which is super Kendian and operates on the assumption of unbridgeable demographic gulfs - that make the practicability of a reasonable diversity policy very tough without ripping up a lot of floorboards.

Agreed. This is why DEI initiatives aren’t easy and why many of the proposed solutions for them frequently fail.
