Thank you for this! I've been looking for roles and am running into the same thing. I'm looking to be at the intersection of AI and HR, and I've yet to come across one.

Non-technical AI roles have been really tough to find. It hasn't been my main focus, but I've only come across a few. I could be looking in the wrong spots.

If it says AI in the description, they want experience in GenAI and LLMs.

If they want AI engineers, they want people with experience building solutions with LLMs.

If they just want ML, then most likely you are building ML models.

Very different.

AI engineers are more like software engineers, not ML engineers.

The problem is that none of this is true. It depends on the company and it depends on the role. Terminology is overloaded and it makes it really difficult to find the right role. Also, while most AI/ML roles involve LLMs, many don't.

I would also hesitate to separate AI/ML engineers because from what I've seen the two are used interchangeably.
